What does it take to be number one in your SMB?
You might sometimes feel like a little fish in a big pond, but it doesn’t always have to be that way. Maybe you are quite happy with your company size. You can still be number one in your niche or local market you service. So what is that recipe for success? How do you get there?
Let's assume that you know your product or service really well and you yourself can produce customer satisfaction resulting in 5 star ratings. This next thing is to find and coach people to help you expand to be #1. Finding people these days is a real trick isn’t it? That is the topic of another blog post. This one is about coaching and your mindset. There have been many great coaches and articles written on this subject, I myself am still learning and practicing this one. In my studies, the one that stood out the most to me is Vince Lombardi’s speech on what it takes to be number one. Here is a small excerpt from the speech and a link to it. It is a quick and great read.
“Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all the time thing. You don't win once in a while; you don't do things right once in a while; you do them right all of the time. Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.”
