Important updates to our field service plans and pricing
Last summer, we bought Kickserv back from Gannett because we believe we can help our customers more as an independent business. Independence has helped us focus on things that really matter; first and foremost, our mission to make service simple. Just like many of you, we’ve learned that the freedom of a small business sometimes comes with hard decisions.
Refocusing on the mission led us to take a long look at our business, our product, and our pricing. Whether you're one person and a toolbox, or a big franchise with multiple locations, we want to meet you where you are. Our goal is to offer valuable tools—at a reasonable, affordable cost—to every size and shape of service business.
This past year, we found that our field service software pricing is not in line with the cost to maintain and improve our product, while some plans no longer align with our feature set. We haven’t updated our pricing plans since 2017—in fact, many of our longest-running customers have not seen a pricing change in over 10 years. We know that our success depends on your success, and your success depends on us providing sustainable and always-improving software for your service business.
Kickserv customers generally fall into two categories: small, homegrown field service businesses just starting out; and larger, established operations. These businesses have different needs, and one size plan definitely does not fit all. So, we rebuilt our entire subscription and billing system around some new plans. New Kickserv customers are already taking advantage of these plans today.
Here's where you come in. You have 3 options:
- Pick a new plan. In your Account & Billing settings, click Change Subscription and choose one of our new plans. You'll be instantly converted to that plan.
- Let us choose for you. Do nothing, and on October 31, 2022, you will be automatically updated to the plan that best matches your current feature set. Your subscription will renew at the new price on your regular renewal date.
- Lock in a year of your current pricing. Need some time to make up your mind? Let us know by replying to this email by August 31, 2022. We'll charge you the equivalent annual amount now, and switch you to a new, equivalent plan that renews one year from now. That gives you 12 months at your current price.
Upgrading to a current plan ensures you get access to all our latest feature updates. The sooner you upgrade, the sooner you can take advantage of these benefits!
